Windows SlowNet : Enables/Disables Optimization of timeouts of Windows98/Me. Windows default is un-optimized. Optimization of this won't dramatically increase your transfers but it will reduce timeouts.
Point To Point IP : Enables/Disables PPP.
Session Keep Alive : Specifies how often to send session keep alive packets on active sessions.
Black Hole Detect : Specifies whether the stack will attempt to detect Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) routers that do not send back ICMP fragmentation-needed messages. Setting this parameter when it is not needed can cause performance degradation. Default is Off. If you enable, it will instruct your connection to try and locate Black Hole routers while doing Path MTU discovery. But it is not suggested to enable.
IPX Header Compression : Enables/Disables TCP/IP packet header compression. This compression is also known as Van Jacobson (VJ) header compression.
IP6 : Enables/Disables IPv6 Stack.
If you disable IPv6, you will not be able to use any application
that relies on the Windows Peer-to-Peer Networking platform or the Teredo transition
technology (for example: Windows Meeting Space). This method disables IPv6 on all your LAN interfaces, connections, and
tunnel interfaces but does not disable the IPv6 loopback interface.
Vcache Start : Windows default is un-optimized. An optimization parameter about cache. (no more information about this)
Nuke Protection : Enables/Disables Nuke Protection: If it is disabled, it specifies that Microsoft TCP/IP is to treat urgent data the way some UNIX systems do.
TTL : Specifies the default time to live (TTL) for IP packets from Microsoft TCP/IP. It is a field in the Internet Protocol header which indicates how many more hops this packet should be allowed to make before being discarded or returned. So this setting specifies how many hops your network connection attempt will be allowed to reach other systems on the network. Default is 128 for Windows NT 4.0 and XP. Default is 32 for Windows 95/98/Me and NT 3.5x
Logging : Enables/Disables logging.
NetBeui : Enables/Disables Optimization of NetBeui.
Max Connections : Specifies the maximum number of concurrent connections. The default is 100.
Note: If you are using an NT based operating system, some settings may be disabled. Because you don't need them.
