1-Select your optimization type according to your connection speed :

Lan, Cable, xDSL, ISDN, T1 or faster
If you're connecting to internet by using lan or cable modem or xDSL (ADSL, SDSL, VDSL, HDSL, IDSL,...) or ISDN or T1 or any fast connection with PPPoA protocol or any other fast one, this option is recommended.

Then select an option according to your connection speed:
Maximum speed option is default. If it does not work for your connection, try "Normal Speed" option.
Normal speed option reduces amount of information that system can receive.

Cable/DSL, Broadband running PPPoE...
If you're connecting to internet by using broadband, cable or DSL that is running PPP over Ethernet, this option is recommended. You may ask to your service provider what type of connection you use, PPPoE or not ?
Normal settings option is designed for most PPPoE connections. This setting uses a higher MTU value according to "Irregular settings."
Irregular settings option is designed for some PPPoE connections.
So we recommend you to try both of them.

Then select an option according to your connection speed:
Maximum speed option is default. If it does not work for your connection, try "Normal Speed" option.
Normal speed option reduces amount of information that system can receive.

DirecPC (Satellite)...
If you're connecting to internet by using DirecPc (satellite) , this option is recommended.
Only Download
option is designed for one way satellite connections.
Download & Upload option is designed for 2 ways satellite connections.
In spite of this, we recommend you to try both of them.

Then select an option according to your connection speed:
Maximum speed option is default. If it does not work for your connection, try "Normal Speed" option.
Normal speed option reduces amount of information that system can receive.

Dial-up Modem...
If you're connecting to internet by using a dial-up modem, this option is recommended.
Fast
option is designed for fast connections. If you have nice clear phone lines and a fast 56k modem, this option is recommended. You can try this option for 64k ISDN connections, too.
Slow option is designed for slow connections. For example; If you use 33k modem, this option is recommended.
Normal option is designed for normal connections. If your modem or lines are not good enough, this option is recommended.
In spite of this, we recommend you to try each of them; select the fastest one for you.

Then select your modem type : winmodem (soft-modem) or hardware modem.
Winmodem is software based internal modem. Winmodems are cheaper than other modems because they don't have a controller. They require a DLL file that loads into memory at startup, using some of Windows' resources. Check your modem's box to ensure if you have winmodem or not.

Windows Default
You can also use the this option to set the default values. That means "no optimization"

2-Activate Safe Mode if it is necessary :

If you want to optimize your connection in BeFaster Safe Mode, you can activate it by using Program menu. Safe mode excludes some settings from optimization. Therefore you optimize only popular (safe to change) settings when safe mode is active.

3-Online/Network Gaming Optimization :

If you want to optimize your connection for online/network gaming, enable the method you want. But enabling some of these methods can reduce your surfing speed. Enabling all of them does not mean "best optimization". Therefore we suggest you to try different combinations.

4-Time to Optimize :

Click "Optimize Settings" button and it will ask you to restart Windows. After you restart Windows, optimization will be completed. To learn how to optimize some settings without restarting, click here.
